Lorem Ipsum generator

Generate dummy text by words, sentences or paragraphs.

A layout looks convincing only once there is text in it. Empty boxes hide the problems that show up the moment real sentences start wrapping, pushing, and overflowing.

This generator fills that gap: pick how much text you need and in which language, press Generate, and copy the result straight into your mockup or template.

How it works

Choosing an amount

Three settings control the output:

SettingRangeNotes
Count1 to 100How many units to produce
UnitParagraphs, sentences, or wordsWhat the count refers to
LanguageLorem Ipsum or KoreanWhich word pool to draw from

Paragraphs and sentences are separated by blank lines in the output; a word count returns a single space-separated string. The text is assembled randomly each time, so pressing Generate twice with the same settings gives you two different results.

How much text you actually get

Sentences are built from a random 8 to 16 words, and each paragraph from a random 3 to 6 sentences. So one paragraph lands somewhere around 25 to 100 words, and three paragraphs — the default — usually fill a decent article body. If you need a precise length, generate by words rather than by paragraphs.

Latin versus Korean

Classic Lorem Ipsum is the safer choice when you want reviewers to judge the layout rather than read the copy, and it has the familiar Latin letter distribution that typography tests are calibrated against. It is a poor proxy for a Korean page, though: Hangul is denser, line-breaks differently, and needs more vertical room per character. When the finished page will be in Korean, use the Korean dummy option so your line heights and column widths are tested against something realistic. In Latin mode each sentence is capitalised and ends with a period; the Korean pool is used as-is.

Before you publish

Placeholder text has a way of surviving into production — into a footer, a meta description, a seldom-visited page. Search for lorem and for a distinctive phrase from the Korean pool before you ship, and never leave dummy text in a title tag or description, where it will be indexed. Generation happens entirely in your browser, so nothing you produce is stored or sent anywhere.

Terms explained

Lorem Ipsum
Scrambled Latin text used as filler since the age of print typesetting. It is meaningless on purpose, so readers look at the layout instead of the words.
Placeholder text
Any temporary text that stands in for real copy while a design is being built and reviewed.
Paragraph / sentence / word
The unit your count applies to. Here a sentence is 8 to 16 words and a paragraph is 3 to 6 sentences, both chosen at random.
Korean dummy
A pool of ordinary Korean words used instead of Latin, so that line height, spacing, and wrapping are tested with realistic Hangul density.
Greeking
The design practice of using meaningless text to evaluate a layout without being distracted by its content.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get different text every time with the same settings?

Words and sentence lengths are picked at random on each run, so no two outputs match. If you need the exact same block twice, generate it once and paste it wherever you need it.

How many words is one paragraph?

Roughly 25 to 100. Each paragraph holds 3 to 6 sentences and each sentence 8 to 16 words, all randomised. Switch the unit to Words if you need a specific length.

Should I use Latin or Korean placeholder text?

Match the language of the finished page. Hangul is visually denser than Latin and wraps differently, so a Korean layout checked with Lorem Ipsum can look right in the mockup and break once real copy arrives.

Is it a problem if placeholder text reaches a live site?

Yes — search engines will index it, and a page or meta description full of dummy text looks unfinished to anyone who lands on it. Search your project for lorem before launching.

Can I generate more than 100 units at once?

The count is capped at 100. For a longer block, generate a few batches and paste them together, or generate by words with a large count.
